This week...

Thank you to everyone who sent in items for our gingerbread houses and came to help on Friday.  They turned out great and we had so much fun!! 

We will not have reading groups, spelling words or homework this week.  We are going to learn about Christmas Around the World and make lots of fun crafts! 

Thursday is Pajama Day!  Please have your child wear their favorite pjs.  They can wear slippers (please bring a change of shoes), and bring a small pillow and blanket.  We will be watching The Polar Express in the afternoon. 

Don't forget Friday is a half day for students.  We will dismiss at 11:00.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and enjoys the break!!

Scholastic Book Order

I am sending home two Scholastic order forms today.  These are due back by Dec. 7th. You can order online or send it back into me at school. There are tons of great books in both!  Everything is on sale.  Books make great Christmas presents!  :)  Our class earns free books with every book you order. Please order if you can.  Thanks!

Weekly Newsletter Novemember 21-25

Tommorrow is our last day before Thanksgiving break.  We are having our Thanksgiving feast tomorrow.  Thank you to all the parents that signed up to send in food.  I really appreciate it!

We will not have reading groups, homework, or spelling words this week. 

Progress reports are going home today.  Please sign them and return them tomorrow.  Let me know if you have any questions.

School will be closed November 23-25 for the break.

HELP!!!

Timed addtion tests

I forgot mention on my newsletter this week that we are going to start doing timed addition fact tests each Friday.  This week we are working on plus 1.   Please practice with you child at home.  Flash cards work great!

Update

We will not have a spelling test this week.  I have been out most of the week because of illness.  I will be back on Thursday for the field trip to Red Clay.


If you are coming as a chaperone for the trip, we are leaving Yates at 8:45.  You can follow the buses or meet us there.  


This is going to be a great trip!  Please have your child wear jeans and tennis shoes.  We will do a lot of walking!!  Thank you!

Animal Habitats
