This week we
will be focusing on farms. We will have
a first grade farm day on Friday, August 29th. Please send your
child dressed in farm attire for a fun filled farm day on Friday!
Reading
and Phonics:

We will be learning
about farms and farm animals this week.
We will be reading many different books like Click, Clack, Moo Cows
that Type, Milk Makers, Farmer Duck, Barn Dance, Rosie’s
Walk, The Little Red Hen, The Three Little Pigs and many
others!

We will be
working on the short i sound.
Grammar:
·
We will continue
to study sentences; including naming parts of sentences and sentence structure.
Spelling:
Please practice daily! We will have a spelling test on
Friday.

fix, lip, it, mix, pin, wig, play, jump
Math:
·
This week in math
we are comparing numbers and putting numbers in order. Please have your child practice counting at
home. We want to be able to count to 120
by the end of the year.
Science:
·
We will be focusing
on living and nonliving things as well as farm animals.
